Makeup Chair Confessional: A Behind the Scenes Tell-All with Actor + Comedian Mike O’Gorman.
Welcome to the glitzy, sometimes sticky, but always fascinating world of film and TV makeup! Today, we're diving into the transformative power of makeup and how it shapes the soul of a character. I’m sitting down with Actor and Comedian Mike O’Gorman (True Lies, Ted Lasso, The Tonight Show) to discuss what it’s like to be on the other side of the brush!
Mike began his career in the industry in the early 2000s with sketch comedy. He joined a comedy video company named Black20, creating various comedy sketches for YouTube. In 2017, he started as a writer on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and quickly became known for his Trump impressions. A few years later, Mike became part of the cast of the CBS television series ‘True Lies’, portraying a spy named Luther. It was there that we met and forged a friendship, and the rest, as they say, is history! Watch the video below for the complete interview, where the significance of makeup, hair, and wardrobe in crafting each character is discussed, plus a few fun behind the scenes stories from The Tonight Show and more!
There you have it, folks! whether you're a hairstylist, makeup artist, or actor, remember: every stroke of the brush adds a layer to the story. Special thanks to Mike for taking the time to sit down and talk to us about the important collaborative relationship between makeup artists and actors!
